The Voice of Somalia’s Private Health Sector.
The Somali Healthcare Federation (SHF) was founded and registered in 2024 as a membership association limited by guarantee. The Federation was formed to address key challenges, including fragmentation and exclusion from key Ministry of Health and development partner programs.
As the umbrella body, SHF champions member interests and is dedicated to maximizing the private sector’s contribution to quality healthcare. We are an independent body, primarily funded by our membership and donations.
To bring all private (non-state) health sector stakeholders under one umbrella body for the purpose of advocating policy changes, improving health service delivery, and championing their interests through transformational advocacy and support.
To be the leading, representing, reference, advocacy & support body for the non-state health sector in Somalia.
Ensure sustainability, promote the private sector's role, engage with policymakers, build member capacity, and disseminate health information.
Be an all-inclusive membership association, optimize the private sector's contribution, promote strategic public-private partnerships, and provide alternative sustainable solutions.
